Holly MacDonald-Bent

Holly has been involved in Highland and Stepdance since the age of six.  She represented the province on the Nova Scotia  highland dance team at the Canadian Championships multiple times and finished off her own competitive dancing in 1993, at the World Highland Dance Championships in Dunoon, Scotland.

In 1987 she began her own dance school in Pictou, which has been very successful.  Her students have won championships and runner up spots across Canada, USA and Scotland. Several other students have gone on to teach young dancers themselves and to perform in International Tattoos.  Dancers of all all ages 4- adult enjoy performing for their most appreciative audiences throughout the county at the seniors homes , continuing care and the Veterans Wing.  Her teaching qualifications entail passing the Associates exam in April 1987, Members in April 1990 and highest level with the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance - Fellows exam in November 2005.

Holly has served as the provincial registrar and secretary of Scotdance Nova Scotia and is currently the area organizer for the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance Maritime Exam Tours.
